BHINDI MASALA

BHINDI MASALA(vendaikkai/okra masala)





INGREDIENTS:

vendaikkai(bhindi) - 10 to 15 (cut in to 2 inch pieces)
onion -  1 big(very finely chopped)
ginger - 1 inch piece(crushed)
garlic - 3 to 4 cloves(crushed)
tomato - 1 big(grinded into paste)
green chilly - 2 small(chopped)
turmeric powder - 2 teaspoon
chilli powder - 2 teaspoon
garam masala - 1 teaspoon
coriander powder - 1/2 tablespoon
salt - to taste
oil- 3 tablespoon


PROCEDURE:

1. Keep a pan in the stove and add 1 tablespoon oil into it.When oil is hot,add the vendaikkai(bhindi)/okra into it...Add a teaspoon chilli powder,turmeric powder and little salt.Mix it and fry the vendaikka pieces nicely for 5 mins..Then keep the fried vendaikkai pieces aside.
2. Keep the same pan now on the stove and add 2 tablespoon oil into it..Wen it is hot,add onion, green chilly,ginger,garlic and saute nicely for 3 mins.
3. Then add the tomato paste,remaining turmeric powder,chilli powder,garam masala,corriander powder,little salt and saute nicely for 3 to 4 mins.
4.Add the fried vendaikkai pieces now,add little water and mix nicely.
5. Cover the pan and keep it in low flame for 10 mins.

After 10 mins your bhindi masala will be ready to be served...
